What you will learn in this activity:

Follow Michelle Du Toit's directions in the first of these activities to discover why only three types of quadrileral in Mathomat have perpendicular diagonals, Explore the properties of quadrilaterals, building on this understanding.

In the second activity we use the equilateral triangle in Mathomat to draw a pyramid, and we then become shape detectives, investigating the many shape patterns that can be found. We then use the ruler in Mathomat along with drawings that have been made with the template to experiment with enlargement of geometric shapes.

Drawing with Mathomat uncovers the intriguing properties of geometric shapes, and the important relationships between them.
