The idea of angle is introduced in this activity. Students learn to find and draw angles using a number of different parts of their Mathomat template.
This activity introduces the idea of rotational distance to understand angle. The protractor in Mathomat is introduced as a tool for measuring angular distance. Students are guided to understand and work with angle as a geometric structure and to identify types of angle using Mathomat V7. Shapes in the Mathomat template, such as the square, are useful for checking angles to estimate their size. Students learn to measure and create angles using different parts of the Mathomat.
