What you will learn in this activity:

In this activiy Michelle Du Toit shows how to construct a grid using parallel lines in Mathomat. This is a very important process. When students use maps they learn to find specified locations. However the distances beween map locations are not known. When a Cartesian coordinate system is created the distance (relationship) between points becomes uniform. This allows for representation of many important geometric relationships.

In this activity the scalene triangle in Mathoat is transformed through reflection over the-axis and the the y-axis.
